Celebrating Leadership: Natasha Baumgartner, Victor Chen and Michael Carter Promoted to Associate Principal

Natasha Baumgartner
Natasha’s journey with Wingates spans over eight years, evolving from the admin team into a design leadership role across both architecture and interiors. Since 2020, she has played a pivotal role in shaping our interiors offering, leading a portfolio of award-winning workplace projects for clients such as Hengyi Pacific – The Pacifica, AIG Insurance, Milford Asset Management, NZ Blood, Craigs Investment Partners, and more.
Her leadership style is approachable, energising, and full of heart. Natasha is known for her ability to bring people together, lift those around her, and contribute with confidence and care. This promotion recognises not just her exceptional design skill, but also her impact across team culture and client relationships.
Victor Chen
Since joining Wingates in 2022, Victor has brought a calm presence and quiet confidence to projects spanning workplace, hospitality and retail. His work is characterised by thoughtful detailing, clarity and refinement – evident in standout projects such as Visa, a global energy HQ in Auckland, and most recently, Florence Bistro in Tauranga.
Victor’s leadership is rooted in care, courage and curiosity. He’s deeply considered, generous with his time, and brings warmth and humour to our studio culture. His promotion reflects the trust he’s earned through his professionalism, design integrity and client relationships.

Michael Carter
Michael is a steady and trusted design leader within our team, with a strong and growing portfolio across Aotearoa. His work in Healthcare, Housing and Commercial design is purposeful and grounded – shaped by user needs and long-term impact. Recent highlights include the MacMurray Medical Centre in Auckland, a 2025 Interior Awards finalist.
Michael is known for his collaborative mindset and design rigour. He brings clarity to complex challenges, mentors generously, and upholds a high standard of care and professionalism throughout every stage of the process.
