Staples Rodway, Tauranga

Project details

Staples Rodway have a history in Tauranga that spans 65 years. They had occupied their previous premises on the site next to 247 Cameron Rd for 29 years and were ready for a change. Beyond just a refresh, there was a real desire to create an environment where staff and partners could work more closely and more collaboratively.

Having previously occupied offices, all staff are now in an open environment with zones like the central ‘Marketplace’ providing opportunities to work casually together. Selective use of vibrant colours give the workspace a sense of energy and informality.

The new reception area has a dedicated suite of meeting rooms, the look and feel is professional with an edge to it. Connection to history is important to Staples Rodway, and so valued elements like the 30 year old earthenware collection have been given the gallery treatment. Their iconic custom surfboard-boardroom table have been given a new lease of life as a leaner in the cafe. The exposure of the structure in places, together with bold lighting treatment, has given a cost effective means of expressing an upbeat and confident organisation.
